Examiner.com Covers North 40 Single

Newcomers North 40, a duo composed of singer/songwriters Paige Logan and Heather Looney, have a debut single to plug, "Hey Girl Hey," and country radio on their radar.

The duo is the flagship act for the newly launched Rhymetown Entertainment of Nashville, and the new single is an anthem for women that's the first taste of North 40's forthcoming CD, which is now getting its finishing touches.

"Hey Girl Hey" was penned by the duo's Logan and Amber Rose, and per the act's PR camp, the track is three minutes of boot-scootin' fun. Produced by Leigh Reynolds and Mills Logan, the new single has shipped to country radio and is now available via iTunes.

"North 40 isn't just about music, it's about empowering everybody in our age bracket and giving them all a voice and reminding them that it's never too late to be what you might have been" said Logan of North 40 in a July 2 correspondence shared with Examiner.com.

Moreover, Looney added, "There are women who are moms or wives just like us who love life and love to go out and have fun. Our first single, 'Hey Girl Hey,' is for them!" Friends for two decades and prolific writers, North 40 is the newest chapter in the lives of these talented women, who've merged their country roots into a progressive, original sound that's said to boast "a tight fusion of sweet and spicy harmonies and songs that hit home with the core country listener."

Initially, the women moved to Music City U.S.A. to pursue music careers, yet as life, family, children and the like sidetracked them a bit, they never lost sight of their artistic dreams. Finally, and after realizing that the music they were hearing on the radio was not speaking to them or their demographic -- the core country listener -- they said decided to take matters into their own hands because "life begins at North 40."
